In the Spring of 2017,
I asked my husband Ed how he felt about building a small barn to house three goats and a few chickens so that we would have farm fresh eggs.
He loved the idea but quickly said “that’s great as long as I have no responsibilities”. My husband, owner of an Advertising and Marketing agency, focused on a logo and cool name. Meanwhile, inspired by my childhood friend, I set my sights on building a barn and filling it with some furry and feathery friends. The Handsome Cock Farm was officially established in the fall of 2017. What started as a hobby farm with five goats and a handful of chickens quickly turned into much more.
Today the farm has grown to include eleven goats, thirty-something chickens, a badass barn cat, three dogs and two crazy kittens! We wouldn’t have it any other way! My husband and I have a shared love of animals and a passion to give back to the community that we love so much which has motivated us to create this website where all of the proceeds for any items purchased will be donated to local charities.
